Blue Ocean Maldives and Barton Lynch come together once again for a truly special Central Atolls surf trip: an intimate, once-a-year experience for surfers who want to discover the real Maldives and share the journey with a world champion.
Barton, the 1988 ASP World Champion and a product of Manly’s legendary breaks, brings the passion, strategy and ocean-reading mastery that have made him one of surfing’s most respected figures.
Throughout the trip, everything flows as one: chasing the best conditions, scoring quality sessions and embracing the full rhythm of life at sea, with great surf, stories and unforgettable moments onboard. You’ll learn directly from Barton, both in and out of the water, gaining insights shaped by his competitive career and his role as one of the sport’s most trusted voices, including as an Olympic surfing commentator.

Dayly surfcoaching by Barton Lynch
Two coached surf sessions per day in a variety of world-class reef breaks.

Performance Workshops from Barton’s Mentoring Program
Onboard sessions with Barton covering topics such as reading conditions, strategic surfing,
flow, competitive mindset and building confidence in challenging waves.
Sunrise and sunset practices focused on flexibility, balance, and breathing techniques to
enhance surf performance and recovery.
Barton Lynch is one of the most respected figures in professional surfing, known for his
strong work ethic, strategic mind, and deep passion for riding waves. Emerging from the
famous breaks of Manly in Sydney’s Northern Beaches, he became a dominant competitive
surfer throughout the 1980s and 1990s. His greatest achievement came in 1988 when he won
the ASP World Championship, proving his consistency, intelligence, and ability to read the
ocean like few others.
After retiring from competition, Barton has remained deeply involved in the surf world and
serves as a commentator for the ISA, WSL and the Tokyo and Paris Olympic Games, earning
him the title of surfing’s most insightful voice.
